More than 900 guests crammed in to the London Hilton on Park Lane for the sold-out Estates Gazette Awards hosted by Channel 4’s Jimmy Carr. At stake were awards in 17 categories, with the stunning new trophies designed by renowned architect Simon Allford and 3D printed by Hobs Studios.
The EG Awards celebrate the very best of the property industry each December. They bring together some of the most influential decision-makers in the property community including advisers, developers, planners, investors, owners, occupiers and the public sector.
As the awards always receive extensive media coverage, the awards needed to be luxury items made to a very high specification. Hobs Studio were asked to create a memorable and recognisable trophy for the awards ceremony and were briefed that “The winners should be thrilled to display their award”. They also had to be distinctive, recognise creativity and innovation.
“We were delighted to work with Hobs on the most recent Estates Gazette’s Awards.” commented Damian Wild, Editor of Estates Gazette. “Having a bespoke 3D printed trophy really differentiated our event from any other in the market. We were able to get one of the UK’s best known architects involved to design the piece and the feedback from the audience was fantastic.”
Damian added “For the commercial property industry there is no bigger accolade than winning an Estates Gazette Award. Getting your hands on our new trophy adds another dimension. We’re looking to grow our awards in the years ahead and we’re confident working with Hobs will help us to do so.”
JLL were the big winners on the night picking up four awards with British Property Federation chief executive Liz Peace also recognised for her outstanding contribution to property over the past decade. Unusually many of the winners were smaller businesses.
