Our Bristol team was approached by local artist Alpha Wilson (who was commissioned to decorate a unicorn for Bristol’s 2023 Unicorn Fest) to help bring his artistic vision to life! The main challenge of this project was wrapping the unique shape of a unicorn…but no challenge has ever stumped Team Hobs!
Alpha’s first idea was to print some of his original artwork onto vinyl and then wrap the unicorn in said vinyl. It was then suggested that using a mix of both vinyl wrapping and spray paint could achieve a truly stand-out effect that would showcase Alpha’s stunning artwork of Bristol’s landscapes.
Once our team printed the artwork on to cast vinyl (with a high-gloss laminate) through our Latex 570, the individual sections were then intricately kiss-cut. We were able to cover the unicorn to create a fantastic canvas for Alpha to then spray-paint his masterpiece onto. At the end of Bristol’s 2023 Unicorn Fest, the unicorns will be auctioned off and money raised will go to support Leukaemia Care. Alpha’s piece was sponsored by Severnside Rail, part of GWR network.
