Heritage Scanning

Whether it’s letters, photographs or other historical artefacts, we understand the value and sentimentality of historical documents, and will ensure they are handled with care, so that they last forever.

Storing hard copies of heritage documents and archival material will deteriorate gradually over time. At Hobs, our heritage scanning team follow a standard digitisation scanning process which uses contactless book scanners. These can then be kept on computers and saved on a cloud just like a digital photo.

When handling heritage documents, we wear specialist white gloves to ensure there is no damage to the documents. Once scanning is completed, we can archive the documents in a controlled environment before returning them safely.
